Artist Statement 2022
Ruth Waller is a Canberra-based painter who shows with Rogue Gallery in Sydney and Nancy Sever in Canberra, and is the former Head of Painting at the ANU School of Art & Design. Currently her work derives from the pleasures and concerns of spending time in the local bushland, her own garden and her family’s garden at Mt Wilson. Each morning she walks the tracks of O’Connor and Bruce Ridges or the National Botanic Gardens. Many of the photographs from these walks are featured on her Instagram page: @ruthwaller6060/
