Sydney-based artist, mother and environmentalist Paula Broom believes art can reconnect us to our natural world and built environments, to ourselves, our health and each other, and ultimately to a sense of higher purpose. She works in various media, but mostly in expanded photo media, exploring ecological and social issues relating to loss, death, extinction and our collective future including the legacy we are leaving our children. She runs Instagramers Sydney on Instagram, underpinning her sentiment that art creates a strong sense of place, connects people and creates social cohesion.
You can follow her on Instagram as @paulabroom (for photography), or as @theoriginalmiss on Instagram (for art and sculpture), as well as on Flickr, Tumblr and Twitter. Her blog can be found at https:// environmeanttobe.wordpress.com
