Two Monks – I have always been interested in the connection and practice of meditation in both the Western and Eastern traditions. The work imagines a meeting on the astral plane between two monks, one chanting a Gregorian chant, and the other enacting a mantra. The meeting zone is metaphorically and literally a tree trunk. Leaves cycling around from green to brown echo both the Western and Eastern connection to nature that is embedded into its core practice. Video link – https://youtu.be/PRnScAdhIew

Tree God in search of a Mythology – An imaginary forest spirit flies off in search of a new tree in a metaphoric quest for a population of people who might believe in it. It is as if the need for such a being exists but its presence is waiting for people to feel the need for it. This work poses a question not that if a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it will it make a sound but if it falls and no one believes that it is a living thing was the tree was there at all.
