🌳 In August 2023 the Tree Veneration Society dressed up as birds and trees and gathered at a community rally to call for the cessation of logging in our old-growth and native forests 🌳
The event began at Addison Rd. Community Centre and opened with speakers including; John Seed, Senator Mehreen Faruqi, with music by Montaigne and William Crichton.
Many members of the community, the Dirt Witches, accompanied the TVS on the march to Anthony Albanese’s electoral office in Marrickville, to deliver the message that one of the most efficient ways of slowing global warming is to stop the destruction of natural forests now. This was the focus of this event/rally.
This was an extremely well-attended, colourful and unifying event and was very well-received by the local community.
