Artist Statement 2019
I find the interactions in the multilayered Australian landscape compelling, whether in the flora and fauna or in the evidence of man-made change.
I have more specifically been drawn to Trees as my subject, and my work over the last 5 years has been dominated by this, particularly surrounded by trees as I was, living near Ku-ring- gai Chase National Park and as I am now, having moved to the Blue Mountains. Trees are living history and superb examples of everyday support for thriving eco-cultures. They provide a continuing fascination for the artist and onlooker.
