Amanda Farquharson

Growing up in and around 1960’s Sydney harbours eastern foreshores, Farquharson has an intimate familiarity with this coastal environment through her inquisitive foraging and exploring with siblings along now forbidden terrain. Nature is a constant field of discovery and nourishment. Drawing on a lifetime of art practices while engaging with nature, these works for AN 2023 –  “In Conversation with Trees” are studies or portraits of familiar local historic and significant trees.
